Mandrake Miller is a seasoned professional, a distinguished Christian Higher Education leader with an impressive 20-year track record in the field. A military veteran, Mandrake brings a unique blend of leadership, discipline, and dedication to his role as a senior executive in the higher education sector.
Currently, he serves as the Vice President for Student Life at Emmanuel College. Prior to Emmanuel, he served as Vice President for Student Success & Engagement at Edward Waters University and Dean of Students at Tuskegee University. Miller’s higher education career spans multiple leadership appointments at Livingstone College (North Carolina), Bethune Cookman University (Florida), Chowan University (North Carolina), and Virginia Union University — as well as experience overseeing programs relating to Enrollment Management (Admissions), Residence Life and Housing, Student Conduct, Campus Ministry, Student Life and Development, Advancement, Greek life, and Athletics.
Miller is a United States Army Veteran and did tours in Iraq and Kuwait. As an ordained minister, Miller shares a passion for working with people and strives for greatness in all his endeavors. As an educator and leadership guru; learning, integrity, and respect are important components of his practice. Merging philosophical frameworks together governs how he engages.

In addition to his role at Emmanuel University, Mandrake is the visionary force behind the Association of Young Higher Education Professionals (AYCHEP). Through this initiative, he seeks to create a supportive community for emerging professionals in the field, fostering mentorship, collaboration, and growth.

A native of South Carolina, and a graduate of Morris College and Grand Canyon University, Mandrake's educational journey reflects his commitment to lifelong learning and academic achievement. His academic foundation, coupled with his military experience, has shaped him into a dynamic leader with a passion for Christian values in education.
He currently is completing a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Christian Ministry from Grand Canyon University. Miller is married to Shaquana Miller and they have an eight-year-old daughter Madison.
